Back from Halifax / The Quiet Canadians Takes Shape

We just returned from our location scout in Halifax for The Quiet Canadians. The trip was productive, to say the least. We spent two days with a top-notch Location Manager, exploring a variety of spots that are perfect for some of the film’s key scenes. We’ve blocked out locations for three main sequences and found some fantastic options for other sets.

Halifax is proving to be an ideal setting, and we’re planning to mix it with Vancouver as our main production hubs. We also had the pleasure of meeting with local Producers and Screen Nova Scotia, who are doing tremendous work in supporting film production in the region. They’ve helped us get the lay of the land, and we’re feeling confident about moving forward.

So, what’s next? Now that we’re back, we’re diving into script revisions to incorporate everything we learned in Halifax. We’re also getting further into casting our lead role and working closely with potential investors and distributors to secure financing.

The goal? To start Production in Spring 2025. Stay tuned as we continue to bring The Quiet Canadians to life.

"The Quiet Canadians" / Join Us at The Kelty Foundation’s Casino Night

Mark your calendars for November because The Quiet Canadians is a sponsorship partner with The Kelty Foundation for their first annual High Stakes Casino Night at Hollywood Theatre. The Kelty Foundation, led by our very own Co-Producer Tegan Moss as President, is dedicated to improving mental health services for children and youth in BC. With 95,000 young people in BC facing mental health challenges, this cause is close to our hearts, especially in an industry where mental health can often be overlooked.

We’re also reaching out to those interested in making a bigger impact. If you have an item to donate for the auction or are interested in sponsoring the event, we’d love to hear from you. Beyond that, we’re offering a unique opportunity for co-sponsorship, allowing you to align your brand not just with this important cause, but also with The Quiet Canadians. Email us if you're interested in chatting about this.

Your ticket includes a signature cocktail, hors d’oeuvres, games, and entertainment. The event will feature auctions, dancing, and, of course, plenty of opportunities to test your luck at the tables. All funds raised will go directly to supporting mental health care for those who need it most. Ready to roll the dice? Get your tickets now, and don’t forget to dress the part.

“Unfrayed” Goes to Production /

We’re thrilled to announce that Unfrayed, a western short film we’re producing, is heading into production this month. The cameras start rolling on September 28. Want to learn more about the project or even lend your support? Check out our Indiegogo campaign here.

"Pickled Rabbit" / Picture Locked and Loaded

Big news on the Pickled Rabbit front: we’re officially picture locked! That means we’re moving on to the next steps—visual effects, coloring, music, and sound design. After that, it’s all about submitting to Film Festivals. We’ll keep you posted on festival dates as soon as they’re confirmed. We can’t wait for you to see the final product.

"13 Miles" Keeps on Rolling /

We’re thrilled to see that 13 Miles continues to resonate with audiences. The film is still going strong on YouTube, Reel Women’s Network, Tubi and Amazon, with over 60,000 views on YouTube alone! We are also discovering that people are buying DVD's on Amazon. The positive feedback has been overwhelming, and we’re grateful for every comment, like, and share. If you haven’t seen it yet, now’s the time.

Reviews

We’re especially thankful to all of you who have given us high ratings and posted great reviews on IMDb.

If you’ve watched the movie but haven’t had a chance to share your thoughts publicly, we’d appreciate it if you could take a moment to post your rating and review on IMDb and Amazon, as well as on YouTube. Ratings between 8-10 help new viewers discover the film and, hopefully, decide to watch it. Every rating makes a difference!

FINALE /

That’s it for this month’s update. As always, we’re grateful for your support and it's a great joy of ours to keep you in the loop as we move forward with these projects. Keep an eye out for more news soon.
